Artist Aleksandra Domanovic and curator Carson Chan will talk about Domanovic’s work, about their collaboration for the 4th Marrakech Biennale 2012 as well as about the connections between former Yugoslavia and Morroco.
For Aleksandra Domanovic (*1981 in Novi Sad, former Yugoslavia, lives in Berlin), electronic media is a theme as well as a tool. The artist uses the Internet as an instrument; a channel of distribution and the subject of her research on changes in society and the media. End of February 2012 she will present a site-specific project at the 4th Marrakech Biennale. Domanovic works will be shown in a solo exhibition at the Kunsthalle Basel from March 31 to May 27. http://aleksandradomanovic.com/
Carson Chan (*1980 in Hong Kong), freelance curator and writer, is curator of the 4th Edition of the Marrakech Biennale, which will open on February 29, 2012. Chan lives in Berlin, where he founded in 2006 PROGRAM, a non-commercial initiative for art and architecture. Until the end of 2011, he curated there various exhibitions, collaborations and events. His writings on art, architecture and contemporary culture appear in books and periodicals worldwide, including Kaleidoscope where he is a contributing editor, and Berlin magazine 032c where he is editor-at-large. www.higheratlas.org/
